Detectives with Louisiana State Police arrested Bradley Smith, 57, of Ville Platte, for possession of child pornography. "Smith was in possession of over 1,100 images and 40 videos depicting child pornography," Trooper Stephen Hammons said. State Police began investigating Smith in September. After collecting evidence, they served a search warrant and seized several digital storage media devices. "Detectives, with the assistance of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office, arrested Smith at his home in Ville Platte today for the warrant. He was booked into the Evangeline Parish Jail," Hammons said.
This case was a part of Operation Child Watch. The mission of Operation Child Watch is to rescue children from those individuals who prey on the innocence of a child. Troopers will continue to work with our local law enforcement partners to locate and arrest these individuals.
