Ville Platte deputy arrested on drug charges

OPELOUSAS, La. (AP) - A St. Landry Parish sheriff's deputy has been arrested on drug charges.
Deputy Chris LeJeune of Ville Platte was arrested this week as part of a joint operation between the St. Landry and Evangeline Parish sheriff's offices.
Jimmy Darbonne with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office said Thursday officers received information that a deputy was in possession of illegal drugs and possibly doctor shopping.
The 31-year-old LeJeune was booked on one count each of possession with intent to distribute Lortab, possession with intent to distribute Valium, possession with intent to distribute Methadone and two counts of possession with intent to distribute OxyContin.
LeJeune is free on a $30,000 bond.
It wasn't immediately clear if LeJeune has an attorney.
