In a packed Mount Pleasant Church, the community of Charenton once again came out to pray and support the victims of Saturday's shooting. One of the speakers was Chitamacha Police Chief Blaise Smith. He spoke on behalf of the family of Sgt. Rick Riggenbach who was killed in the line of duty.

"Riggenbach loved each and every one of you as he did everybody else. I've seen him in the community and many of you have called me and complemented his actions and the deeds that he has done," Chief Smith said.

Mount Pleasant was also the home church for Eddie Lyons who also died during Saturday's events. His brother, Curley Lyons, remembers how much Eddie enjoyed life.

"Eddie was someone that loved life and he lived his life to the fullest all of his life. Everybody that knew him would tell you that Eddie was the kind of person who lived life happy, like most people would like to be," Curley Lyons said.

Through songs and scripture, the crowd sent their well wishes to the injured St. Mary Parish Deputies Jason Javier and Matthew Strickland and prayed for those who didn't make it. All four are known as heroes in community of Charenton.
