The District 3 seat on the Evangeline Parish School Board is no longer vacant. Last night, the board elected Darren Vidrine to fill the unexpired term of Jerry Thompson, who died earlier this month. Vidrine will hold the seat until an October special election.
Two other candidates, Joey Limoges--brother of board member E. Scott Limoges--and Lucas Tate, applied for the position. Vidrine received 10 votes, Tate received one vote, and Limoges received none. Scott Limoges abstained from the voting.
