The State Fire Marshal's Office has identified the three people killed in an apartment fire this morning in Lake Charles. Officials say 29-year-old Nina Williams and her two sons, four-year-old Darion Williams and two-year-old Mikoh Williams, died in the blaze. According to investigators, the home did not have working smoke detectors, and the windows in the bedroom where the bodies were found were painted and nailed shut. They also say Williams called 911 after the fire started, but dispatchers heard her coughing uncontrollably.
Preliminary autopsy results say the family died of smoke inhalation and carbon monoxide poisoning. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
