Victim Shot in the Back During Attempted Armed Robbery

On March 16, 2010 at approximately 11:56 hours the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office was notified of an attempted armed robbery which occurred at 510 W. Admiral Doyle. The victim, Male age 48, was across from the Penny Wise Convenience store in a parking lot when he stated he was approached by a large group of black males. The victim then advised one of the suspects asked demanded money, the victim stated he turned to run and was shot in the back.

The victim described the person who had shot him as a black male approximately 5’7” to 5’10” weighing 140 to 170 pounds wearing all black and a full brimmed hat. The victim was able to run to the Penny Wise Parking lot and received assistance from customers and workers.

Acadian ambulance arrived on scene and transported the victim to a local hospital. The victim is in stable condition at this time. Detectives do not have any suspects thus far.
