Victim in Fatal Lafayette Crash Identified

Update: The victim of a singe vehicle crash Sunday night has been identified as Lionel Broussard (54) of Scott. The crash remains under investigation.
Previous Release:
On March 15, 2010, at approximately 2:30 am, officers with the Lafayette Police Department responded to the I-49 and I-10 interchange regarding a single vehicle crash. According to traffic investigators, the victim was traveling in a gold 2005 Chevrolet Impala on Interstate-49 when he entered the westbound on ramp for Interstate-10. While traveling on the on ramp the victim’s vehicle lost control, crashed, and caught fire. The victim, a 54 year old male of Scott, was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the victim is being withheld pending the notification of the next of kin. The crash remains under investigation by the Lafayette Police Department Traffic Section.
