Victim Fights Back Against Burglar

On December 3, 2010, at approximately 12:15 am, Lafayette Police responded to an apartment complex in the 300 block of West University Avenue regarding a burglary. The victim, a 27 year old female, entered her apartment and was attacked by a suspect waiting inside. The victim fought the suspect until the suspect fled the apartment on foot. The victim received minor injuries from the struggle.
The suspect is described as a black male, 5'00" to 5'05" tall, approximately 120 pounds and wearing a baseball cap. It is believed that the suspect was able to gain access to the apartment by a window.
Lafayette Police are asking anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the suspect to call the Lafayette Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
