Veteran's Day ceremony planned in Estherwood

Veterans will be honored during a service in Estherwood on Saturday, November 10th. The ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the Estherwood Cemetery, and a breakfast will follow at the Knights of Columbus Home. The event is open to the public.

Three Acadia Parish veterans who were killed in action will be recognized. The include the following, as published by acadiaparishtoday.com:

1) Wilson Mark Meche of Estherwood. Meche died at the age of 21 in Korea on Oct. 6, 1952. He was a Private First Class in the United States Marine Corps.
2) Paul H. Myers from Acadia Parish. Myers died at the age of 24 in Korea on Sept. 7, 1951. He was a Corporal in the United States Army.
3) William C. Quebodeaux Jr. of Crowley. Quebodeaux died at the age of 19 in South Vietnam on Feb. 3, 1968. He was a Private First Class in the United States Army.
