ABBEVILLE, La. (AP) - Assessor Kathyrn Broussard says Vermilion Parish can expect about $1.7 million more in tax revenue for 2011 because of an increase in tax assessments.
In a brief presentation to the Vermilion Parish Jury on Monday, Broussard said 2011 real property values were $190.38 million, an increase from the $186.15 million in 2010.
The Advocate reports personal property assessments for 2011 totaled $154.43 million, down from $159.67 million in 2010.
Parish Administrator Linda Duhon said the administration was also happy there were no protests to the new assessment.
