An update on the bus accident in Meaux has sent two students from Indian Bayou Elementary to the hospital with minor injuries.
It happened at highway 700 and Gladu Road in Vermilion Parish. In addition two people in a Ford Explorer which was also in the accident are headed to the emergency room with moderate injuries.
State police say it appears the bus driver was at fault because the driver of a the Ford Explorer did not have a stop sign and the bus driver did.
So far, however, no charges have been filed.
There is a report of a school bus accident in the Meaux area in Vermilion Parish. Troopers have been called out to the intersection of Highway 700 & Gladu Road. We're told elementary school students were on board and that several people are being taken to the hospital. We have a crew en route and hope to have more information shortly.
