According to Sheriff Mike Couvillon, the Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Narcotics Division made the following arrests for drug related crimes:
- Timothy Hoffpauir, (dob 12-7-59) of Abbeville was arrested and charged with two counts of distribution of crack cocaine. Total bond set was $80,000.
- Russell Saddler Jr (dob 11-17-83) of Abbeville, arrested and charged with possession of a Schedule IV narcotic (Xanex), Distribution of a Schedule III narcotic (Lortab), Possession of Prescription pills without prescription, possession of Marijuana, and possession of Lortab. Total Bond set was $73,000.
- While agents were working street levels sales disruption in Abbeville, they noticed a female subject approach someone on the streets in a high drug crime area, and make a suspected drug transaction. More disturbing than the drug transaction was that the female had her toddler daughter with her while the transaction was being made. As agents approached, and before they could identify themselves, the female must have recognized them and immediately put her head down, opening up her hand, showing one suspected rock of crack cocaine. Agents mirandized her at this time and she was taken into custody. The child was turned over to another concerned adult. Arrested and charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile, and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile was Wendy Kibodeaux, (dob 11-1-75) of Abbeville. Total Bond set was $12,500.
