MONROE, La. (AP) - V-Vehicle Co., which hopes to build new cars in Ouachita Parish, has a new chief executive and a new name for the company.
The company announced Tuesday that Kathleen Ligocki, a veteran auto executive, will lead the company under the new name Next Autoworks Co.
The News-Star reports Ligocki takes over for interim chief executive Ray Lane, who will continue as the company's board chairman. She previously served as chief executive of Tower Automotive and GS Motors and led multiple global divisions of Ford Motor Co.
The company said Next Autoworks' goal to bring its new car to the market during the 2012-13 model year is contingent on the U.S. Department of Energy approving the company's application for $320 million in federal loans.
