Utility assistance available for Lafayette Parish Residents

If you live in Lafayette Parish and have been hit by extremely high utility bills or just need help with your payments, SMILE has relief through its Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program, known as LIHEAP. Funds are available for utility payment assistance for eligible residents.

SMILE will be giving out appointment dates from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 18, at the Clifton Chenier Center, which is located off Willow Street in Lafayette.

Please be sure to bring your pictured ID and your social security card.

For residents in St. Martin Parish, contact the SMLE's St. Martin Community Action Center at (337) 394-6013.

Iberia Parish residents should contact SMILE's Iberia Community Action Center at (337) 365-8151.
