U.S. Marshals Arrest Lafayette Rape Suspect In FL

On March 8, 2010, the Lafayette Police Department's Youth Services Section began an investigation involving a female juvenile, under the age of 12 that was allegedly raped by a 34 year old suspect within the City of Lafayette. As a result of the investigation, a warrant was issued for Aggravated Rape for Juan David Mohica-Rivera (34) of New Iberia. Mohica-Rivera was unable to be located and was believed to have fled the State of Louisiana.
On March 18, 2010, members of the United States Marshal Fugitive Task Force located Mojica-Rivera in Orlando, Florida, where he was apprehended and is being held pending extradition.
