NEW ORLEANS, La. (AP) - U.S. Commerce Secretary Gary Locke will
be in Louisiana today, and seafood's on his agenda and menu.
After a late-morning tour of a shrimp processing plant in
Lafitte, about 30 miles from New Orleans, he will have
lunch with Gulf fishermen at a seafood restaurant in suburban
In the afternoon, Locke has an economic roundtable in Metairie
with seafood industry representatives and owners of local
businesses affected by the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.
This will be Locke's third visit to Louisiana since June. He met
with tourism leaders in New Orleans last month and said the Gulf
Coast needed more advertising money from BP PLC bring back visitors
staying away because of the oil spill.
