UPDATE: Sheriff's deputies in pursuit of stabbing suspects in Acadia

Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office (APSO) deputies are currently looking for an alleged aggravated assault suspect in a wooded area in the 3600 block of the Eunice/Iota Hwy.

According to APSO Spokesperson Maxine Trahan, deputies responded to a disturbance call today at 1:02 p.m. in the 5000 block of the the Eunice/Iota Hwy.

Upon arrival, deputies located a victim that was stabbed multiple times. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, stated Trahan.

A deputy in the area spotted the suspects in a black Chevy and began to pursue them. The two suspects stopped the vehicle in the 3600 block of the Eunice/Iota Hwy. and a foot pursuit began.

According to Trahan, one suspect busted into a residence and ran through the home and out the backdoor. That suspect was apprehended by deputies.

Deputies are currently searching for the second suspect.

The suspect is describe as a white male wearing an orange shirt, blue jeans and carrying a black bag.
