Update to New Year's Eve bomb threat: Officials with the Lafayette Fire Department tell KATC that the threat last night turned out to be a pipe bomb inside a port-o-let at a construction site on Duhon Road near Giles Nissan. Officials believe the pipe bomb was nothing more than a New Year's prank that cost the city a lot of money. Several agencies had to be called out to help investigate. If you have information on this incident, call the Lafayette Fire Department.
