Update: Mother and Boyfriend Arrested in 4-year-old Girl's Death

Investigators in Iberia Parish this morning say a 3-year-old was taken to a hospital for apparent injuries but is in stable condition, and a 5-year-old was taken in for observations and has since been released.
The mother of the 4-year-old girl, Vanessa Edmond and her boyfriend, Jamal Charles are charged with three counts of cruelty to a juvenile. The mother is being held without bond and the boyfriend has a $500,000 bond.
Yesterday, deputies were called to the 1123 Spencer Loop Drive. The coroner later pronounced the 4-year-old girl dead, and hasn't yet released the cause of death.
