UPDATE Major Fire in Carencro

Several fire departments are still fighting an apartment fire in Carencro which broke out around 10:30 Wednesday evening on Desoto Road.
At least 10 homes were destroyed in the blaze, and fire officials tell us there are no injuries to report at this time. Several departments and their equipment from across Acadiana were called in to assist with extinguishing the blaze.
Carencro Fire Chief, Oren Haydel says that he expects to continue fighting this blaze well into Thanksgiving morning.
