Lafayette Police are called to a home on Bernice Ave. in response to "gun-shots."
Neighbors say they were barbecuing in their backyard when one person heard about seven shots fired inside his neighbors' home.

When Police arrived, they found one man dead and another in serious condition.
Police would not immediately release their names but tell KATC the two men are related.

Detectives do not believe a third party was involved.

"It was contained to the two men inside the home," Cpl. Paul Mouton said.

Neighbors in the immediate area say one man was living at the home but rarely saw him and did not know his name. Police would not release the status of his injuries (whether serious or fatal).

More information to come and possible charges to come.
