A man accused of kidnapping and killing his girlfriend stood before a Saint Landry parish judge today.
John Larry Synder has been in jail in Saint Landry Parish for the past four months.
Family members laid eyes on her accused killer again today.
Family members held signs they carry around the parish to jail show how they feel.
"She's our strength. We're only doing this for her; it helps us when ever we get to look at her picture. It helps us realize why we're here," says Chapman's friend Allison Wiltz-Moran. "Then when we flip it around it turns us to the anger and the reason that were here."
The case covers two parishes.
In St. Landry, Snyder faces a kidnapping charge, and in Point Couppe he faces 2nd degree murder.
The once $250,000 bond for kidnapping is now reduced to $100,000 which is still enough to keep Chapman's family happy.
"I wish they would have kept it at 2 million but $100,000 is good i guess we have to live with it," says
Chapman's aunt Denise Kimball.
She says the family's biggest concern is if Snyder finds a way to bond out.
Snyder will be in court next month in Point Coupee Parish to face 2nd degree murder charges.
Investigators say that is where Davina Chapman died.
