UPDATE- A man in Duson was struck by a vehicle as he was on the sidewalk on Avenue B and Fourth.

We've learned the pedestrian is Randy Bourque. He is in his 40s and according to his family, he has broken ribs, a broken collar bone, a concussion and a punctured lung.

We tried to contact Duson police to find out if the female driver has been charged with anything, but there was no one at the police station and no answer when we called.

Residents in the area say there needs to be more cops enforcing the speed limit, especially because Fourth Street is a school zone.
