Update: Deputy involved shooting

Update on the deputy-involved shooting from State Police: The St. Martin Parish Sheriff's office received a call for assistance at a home on Salt Mine Rd. When deputies arrived, they say they encountered a man with a pistol. The deputy opened fire on the suspect and shot him. The suspect is in critical condition at a local hospital. The deputy is not hurt and State Police are investigating. They believe this all took place outside of the home.
