The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office says no one has been charged with a crime after a woman was severely injured in a dog attack Friday. They would not indicate if any charges will be filed or the condition of the victim.
You may recall that on Friday evening at a business on Main Street in Lake Charles, a woman was found lying inside the fence of the business. Investigators say it appeared she was mauled by three pit bulls who were watchdogs for the business.
Deputies say when they jumped over the fence to help the woman, they were threatened by the dogs causing one of the deputies to fire at them, grazing one of the dogs. All three dogs then ran into the business.
Deputies tried to determine how the woman got inside of the fence and why she was there. The woman, who has not been identified, was taken to an area hospital then airlifted to a Houston hospital because to the severity of her injuries.
