Update: Child ejected in Carencro crash; Non-life threatening injuries

Carencro police are investigating a serious crash off of I-49 that involved three children.
Police say just after 3:00, they responded to a wreck involving an adult female and three children in the 3600 block of NW Evangeline Thruway.

Police say the car was traveling northbound on the Evangeline Thruway, and when the driver attempted to switch lanes, they hit a truck. The driver of the car lost control of the vehicle, hit a culvert, and rolled over several times. As a result, a child was ejected.

All four passengers in the vehicle were transported to area hospitals. The child who was ejected was transported via Air-med. All of the injuries have been classified as severe, but they are non-life threatening. The driver of the truck reported no injuries at the scene.

After this crash, several minor crashes occurred in the immediate area, due to traffic being backed-up and inattentive drivers.
