Update: Apparent Murder-Suicide in Opelousas

At 5 AM this morning on the corner of Park and Frilot in Opelousas there was an apparent murder suicide.
Opelousas police say Broderick Francis, 31, broke into the home and shot Ranette Thibodeaux before then shooting himself.
The couple had been seeing each other "on and off" for several years had been separated at the time. In 2005 Francis was arrested on a battery complaint against Thibodeaux.
