Unsolved Murder Has Family Looking for Answers a Year Later

Today, a New Iberia woman is still looking for answers in the shooting death of her husband, one year ago today.
49-year old Ivan Landry's body was found near Acme Refrigeration on Monroe Street in Lafayette.
Now, a year later, that case has gone cold.
Ivan's wife Ada Landry says he may be gone, but he's not forgotten.
She surrounds herself with pictures of her husband Ivan.
A man, she says, who had a big heart, and who's untimely death still haunts her to this day.
"Today, to me is no different than August the 27th, 2012. It's the same pain, the same hurt. There's no closure", says Landry.
She was informed of her husband's death while she was on her way to the hospital.
Landry found out Ivan died, at the same time she was told she had colon cancer.
Originally she had been told Ivan was shot in the torso, but was later informed his injury was much worse.
She says, "Nothing should bring someone to that point that they should blow someone's brain out through their eye."
Corporal Nicole Benoit with the Lafayette Police Department says they've had no leads on the case, which means a year later, the department still needs help tracking down the gunman.
"Yes, it is very important because it has been a year, so everything is pretty much cold at this point, and we need any information that might be out there", says Benoit.
Landry is also asking anyone with any information to come forward, so that she and her family might finally have the closure they need.
"Please come forward, because if you know it's tearing you up to. It's tearing you up to to know that you know. And that the crime is unsolved. So I'm begging you. I'm begging you."
