ULL appoints graduate school dean

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - The University of Louisiana at Lafayette has appointed a new dean of its graduate school.
The Advocate (http://bit.ly/pCkA0c) said that David Breaux began his new job Monday. Breaux is formerly associate dean for academic affairs in the College of Arts at Mississippi State University.
Breaux replaces C. Eddie Palmer, who retired earlier this summer. His appointment is pending approval by the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors, which meets Aug. 26.
The university said 1,457 graduate students enrolled in classes last fall and the spring count grew to 1,502.
At Mississippi State, Breaux also was a political science professor and implemented a new doctoral program in public policy and administration.
