Entering Thursday's match the Ragin' Cajuns soccer team was tied for eighth place in the Sun Belt Conference standings with Troy. As the result of an overtime goal, the Trojans won the match and took sole possession of eighth place.

UL had multiple scoring opportunities, but were unable to get a ball past Troy's keeper Katie Comeno-Lewos. The squad's best chance came in the second half when freshman forward Elizabeth Manuel launched a shot from 15-yards out, forcing Comeno-Lewis to make a diving save.
