UL's Broadway Tabbed To Davey O'Brien Watch

FORT WORTH, Texas - Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns senior quarterback Terrance Broadway was one of 39 players named on Wednesday to the 2014 Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award Watch List in an announcement made by the Davey O'Brien Foundation.

Broadway, a Baton Rouge native and former Capitol High product, became the sixth Cajun this summer to appear on a preseason watch list joining Daniel Quave (Lombardi), Mykhael Quave (Lombardi), Justin Hamilton (Lombardi), Dominique Tovell (Lombardi) and Jamal Robinson (Biletnikoff).

In helping lead Louisiana to a 9-4 record, the Sun Belt Conference championship and a third straight victory in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl, Broadway threw for 2,149 yards and 19 touchdowns while finishing third on the team with 442 yards rushing and eight TDs. Broadway led the Sun Belt Conference in passing efficiency on the season and was fourth in total offense and fifth in passing average.

Broadway, who started 12 games for the Cajuns, injured his throwing arm against ULM on Nov. 30 and missed the team's regular-season finale at South Alabama one week later. He returned to action two weeks later against Tulane in the New Orleans Bowl, completing 12 of 19 passes for 143 yards in a 24-21 victory before a bowl-record crowd of 54,728.

The field will be narrowed to 16 semifinalists on Monday, Nov. 3. The Foundation and the Selection Committee will announce three finalists on Monday, Nov. 24. The 2014 Davey O'Brien winner will be announced on The Home Depot College Football Awards on Thursday, Dec. 11.

Broadway and the Cajuns will officially open the season on Aug. 30 against Southern University at Cajun Field.

Season tickets are available by calling the Cajundome Ticket Office at (337) 265-2100 or visiting RaginCajuns.com/tickets.
