An internal audit into the finances of UL Lafayette Professor of Petroleum Engineering Dr. Ali Ghalambor is complete.
The report found that from 2006 to 2009, Ghalambor did not properly report outside employment to the university.
The audit revealed he accepted more than $40,000 from the university, while working other jobs.
His travel expenses also revealed that he claimed more than $84,000 in travel expenses, while also claiming reimbursement from companies and organizations he served during his travels.
Ghalambor stepped down as Chairperson of his department, but is still employed by the university, which is consulting with the District Attorney's office on potential legal action.
