A University of Louisiana at Lafayette student has created an educational children's television show.
Roger J. Timber created and produced his very own Saturday morning educational children's television show titled "Big Reader". It is similar to "Mr. Roger's Neighborhood" and "Reading Rainbow". Although the primary age focus for the show is 2 to 8 years old, the show can be enjoyed by entire family.
Each episode is about 12 minutes long and will be released on YouTube via Roger J. Timber channel. The importance of Literacy is the main focus of the show. Timber encourage reading, manners, how to properly wash your hands and the importance of drinking milk on a daily basis and encourage children to eat their vegetables.
The first episode was released on Saturday, December 1, 2012. A new episode will be released every two weeks thereafter with episode 5 being released this Saturday January 26th at 9am central time.
Timber has also created a second show titled "Storytime With Big Reader". It is a more simple show that is aimed at children ages 2 to 5 years old and it will be 2 to 3 minutes long.
It will also air on Timber's YouTube channel every Saturday morning at 9:30 am.
Timber has a radio interview that will air on Lafayette's 94.5, 99.1 and 93.7 at the same time this Sunday, January 27th between 7 and 7:30 am.
About Roger J. Timber
Roger J. Timber was born and raised in Rayville, Louisiana. Timber graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in December 2003 with B.F.A. in performing Arts. After graduation he went to work for Walt Disney World on their college program, in Orlando, Florida.
Once Timber completed the program he went on a Midwestern children's theatre your with Climb Theatre based out of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota from 2004 to 2006. Once he finished the tour Timber went on to act in different movies and television shows.
