For the first time ever, the Louisiana Classics Golf Tournament will be broadcast live from Oakbourne Country Club on RaginCajuns.com, head coach Theo Sliman announced on Tuesday.
"I think this is huge for an event that has been going on for 28 years," head coach Theo Sliman said. "To be pioneers in the collegiate golf world and bring live video to our event is something that I couldn't be more proud of. I think aside from the major conferences and the national championship, this will be the first time you will see live video at a regular season tournament."
The free broadcast will feature holes nine and 18 with commentary provided by Dan McDonald and Gerald Broussard.
The live stream begins at 9:30 a.m. CT on both Monday, March 4 and Tuesday, March 5. The stream will conclude with the end of play on Monday, and will wrap up with the awards ceremony on Tuesday.
"This is going to add to the prestige of an already outstanding tournament and I thank the sports information staff for all of their hard work on making the stream happen," Sliman added. "I can't say how great this is for fans and family members who aren't able to make it out to the course."
This year's Louisiana Classics features a strong 14-team field including host Louisiana, No.12 LSU, No.19 Illinois, No.24 Kent State, No.36 Houston, No.38 Tulsa, No.47 South Alabama, Kansas, Louisiana Tech, Memphis, Southeastern La., Southern Miss, Texas State and UTSA.
