The University of Louisiana in Lafayette is making strides in its efforts to go green. In fact a group called S.P.E.A.K is spear heading those efforts. S.P.E.A.K stands for students for peace, action, environment, and knowledge. They're working with UL's student government and the campus president to formulate a green plan.
This green plan is supported by two non profit organizations; The Green Monkies and Peppa Mellows. They are helping the speak group to raise money to get their plan going. Their goal is get more recycling bins on campus and also create awareness of energy consumption and planet preservation.
The group will present their plan to the campus president next semester and they hope to have everything set by the start of 2010 fall semester.
