LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - The University of Louisiana at Lafayette's Spring 2011 graduating class set a record. With 1,455 graduates, the class was the largest in the university's more than 100-year history.
While the majority of these graduates are from Louisiana, helping push that total over the top were a number of international students.
Rose Honegger, the university's director of international affairs, tells The Advertiser about 600 international students from 70 nations currently call UL home.
Despite the current depressed state of the world economy, she said the number of international students choosing to study at UL is actually increasing.
