LAFAYETTE - In celebration of the Second Annual Military Appreciation Day, both bands from UL Lafayette and UL Monroe will perform together during the halftime entertainment on November 21st when Financial Concepts presents the Ragin' Cajuns and the Warhawks at Cajun Field.
"The ULM band will perform with the Pride of Acadiana during the last portion of the half-time entertainment," said Pride of Acadiana Band Director, Brian Taylor. "Both bands wanted to be a part of our recognition of the contributions of our men and women in uniform."
The 2009 Military Appreciation Night will feature a display of vintage and current military vehicles, climbing walls, and fireworks display at half-time. Military members and their families are also invited to join in the pre-game parade through the tailgating area.
"Most of Acadiana knows someone who is serving or has served in the military," said David Walker, Ragin' Cajuns Athletic Director. "Now, they can help honor those currently serving in the military and National Guard by donating tickets so those service members and their families can attend the Second Annual Ragin' Cajuns Military Appreciation."
Ragin' Cajuns fans can either purchase tickets to donate or donate game tickets that may otherwise go unused. Through their generosity, the fun of the game day experience can be shared by military personnel and their families. Gates open at 4:30 p.m, and the game starts at 6 p.m.
The evening will also feature an appearance by Ronald McDonald. He'll be passing out Ragin' Cajuns/McDonald's Cheerstix to the fans coming into Cajun Field.
Fans can order tickets through the Ragin' Cajuns Ticket Office at the Cajundome. When ordering, please provide name and contact information, unless the donation is to remain anonymous. Tickets that may go unused should be mailed no later than Friday, November 13th to: Ragin' Cajuns Ticket Office, 444 Cajundome Blvd, Lafayette, LA 70506.
