Two Suspects Arrested for New Iberia Shootings

Sheriff Louis Ackal advises that Detectives with the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office arrested two suspects responsible for the shootings that occurred on April 15, 2013 at the intersections of Rene and Anderson Streets.

Detectives arrested Donald Boatman of New Iberia DOB 03-28-1990 and charged him with three counts of attempted second degree murder, illegal carrying of a firearm in a school zone, contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.

Boatman also had an active warrant for second degree battery.

Detectives also arrested a 16 year old male juvenile of New Iberia for his involvement in the incident. Detectives charged the juvenile with three counts of attempted second degree murder.

Detectives believe Boatman and the 16 year old fired numerous rounds that hit two male victims each in the leg and one female victim in the arm.
