Two St. Martin Parish Men Arrested on Drug Charges

Two men are behind bars tonight on drug charges. Agents with the St. Martin Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit investigated a complaint of illegal drug activity at a residence on Castille Street within the city limits of Breaux Bridge.

Once inside the home, agents found crack cocaine base, cocaine HCL, marijuana, hydrocodone tablets, synthetic marijuana, and firearms. One of the firearms was discovered to be stolen from Lafayette. Agents also located U.S. currency, which was seized along with a vehicle.

Broderick Sylvester, 25 years old, and Sidney Sylvester, 53 years old, were arrested and booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the following charges:


Broderick Sylvester:Possession with intent to distribute schedule II CDS crack cocaine; Possession with intent to distribute schedule I CDS Synthetic marijuana; Possession with intent to distribute schedule III CDS hydrocodone Watson 385; Possession with intent to distribute schedule III CDS hydrocodone Watson 780; Possession of schedule I CDS marijuana; Possession with intent to distribute schedule II cocaine HCL; Possession of a firearm with obliterated serial numbers; Possession of firearm by a person convicted of a felony; Possession of firearm in the presence of a CDS; Illegal possession of a stolen firearm; Possession of drug paraphernalia
