The Washington Police Department has made two separate arrests after receiving complaints of drug activity in the 400 block of West Hill Street. Police say Lee Collins was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I Drugs and Monies derived from proceeds. Officers also arrested a 16 year old Juvenile and also charged him Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I Drugs.
Police say Collins had 98 grams of marijuana hidden inside his home. The street value of the drugs is $300. Officers also found more than $500 in cash which was seized as profits from drugs Collins had already sold.
In the second incident, police say they were in a wooded area on West Hill Street investigating a complaint of someone growing marijuana, when the juvenile walked up to the officers.
While speaking to officers, the juvenile had his right hand inside of his pants pocket; when he was asked to remove them from his pocket the officer observed a clear plastic bag with what appeared to be marijuana hanging out of his pocket. The officers say they found 15 bags of Marijuana in his pocket. The street value of the juvenile's drugs is about $150. He was at that time taken into custody and transported to the Washington Police Department where he was booked and then released to an adult.
