Two men sentenced in connection to 2012 Joseph shooting death

Two men have been sentenced Tuesday in connection to the shooting death of of Frederick Joseph, III.

The 15th Judicial District Attorney's Office announced that Travonte Broussard, 21, entered a Manslaughter plea yesterday and was sentenced to 15 years hard labor with the Louisiana Department of Corrections.

Co-defendant Nicholas Felix, entered a plea to an obstruction of justice charge and was sentenced to 10 years hard labor, suspended, 5 years active supervised probation..

The two pleas immediately preceded jury selection.

The shooting occurred in the parking lot of a restaurant on Congress Street on July 1, 2012.
