Two Lake Charles residents, Andrew D. Anderson, 24, and David J. Sonnier, 23, have been arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correction Center and charged with theft over $500.
On April 4, Calcasieu Parish deputies were dispatched to the Wal-Mart in Lake Charles and spoke with a Wal-Mart security team member who told them that the two men were seen hiding several items including a DVD player and a computer monitor valued at over $1200, and attempted to leave the store. Detectives then conducted a search of Anderson and Sonnier's apartment and found several items that were previously stolen from the Wal-Mart Supercenter including a computer tower, a video projector, and a DJ Mix Board, valued at over $1000. All of the stolen items were recovered by detectives and returned to the store.
Sonnier has also been charged with illegal possession of stolen things. Judge Wilford Carter set Anderson's bond at $1500 and Sonnier's bond at $2500. Deputy Nathan McKee is the arresting deputy and Detective Scott Helms is the lead investigator on this case.
