Acadia Parish sheriff's deputies arrested two Lafayette men who are accused of breaking into a home in the 9400 block of Airport Rd. near Leger Road. When deputies arrived at the home this afternoon, they found a man kicking in a door at the home. "The officer advised that two black male subjects immediately fled the scene on foot," according to Acadia Sheriff Wayne Melancon.
Authorities later found and arrested Ronald Joseph Jr., 25, and Ross Elijah Chaisson, 19. They're both charged with simple burglary and home invasion. "Sheriff Melancon also reported that items taken from the residential burglary in the 7100 block of E Whitney near Morse were recovered in the white Ford Expedition the two suspects were driving. At press time Melancon advises that three more residential burglaries in the Morse have been reported. As the investigation continues additional charges are expected.
