Two Jeanerette Men Arrested in Craigslist Scam

Two Jeanerette men are charged with forgery and theft by fraud after allegedly using a Craigslist ad and a bad check to make off with $3800. Clint Rogers and Louie Barnett, Jr. are currently held in the St. Mary Parish Jail. Investigators say the victim responded to a post by someone posing as a movie producer looking for freelance help. According to police reports, the victim received a check in the mail and followed instructions to cash it and wire some of the money back to the supposed producer. The report also says the check never cleared the bank. Investigators say Barnett and Rogers received the funds.
