Two men are arrested after a robbery in Lafayette. Police say on Saturday night, at approximately 10:45 pm, the victim was washing his vehicle in the 800 block of North Pierce Street when two suspects approached him. Police say the suspects were wearing bandanas over their faces. One of the suspects produced a handgun and demanded money from the victim. Police say the suspects stole the victim's wallet and jewelry then forced the victim to drive them to the intersection of Martin Luther King Drive and Patterson. The victim was forced out of the vehicle and the suspects fled the area in the victim's vehicle, a red 1999 Cadillac Deville. The victim was not injured during the incident.
A short time later, police say the victim's vehicle was stopped at the intersection of St. Antoine and West Gilman by a Lafayette Police Officer. The two suspects were taken into custody, along with the recovery of the stolen property and the gun used in the robbery. Lafayette Police charged Rondell Williams (18) of Lafayette and Gary Broussard, Jr. (17) of Lafayette with Armed Robbery, Aggravated Kidnapping and Possession of a Stolen Firearm. The incident remains under investigation.
