Two Arrests Made in Connection with a Kidnapping in Eunice

Two agencies are working together in a case involving a kidnapping and rape. The victim was allegedly kidnapped in Eunice ten days ago. Officials say she was dumped in Evangeline Parish-- nearly unconscious and half naked. She was found in a ditch off Highway 104, Northeast of Eunice.

Neighbor, Tammy Tate, said "she found her with no pants, no underwear."

Tate's friend found the victim. She lives right down the road from where the victim was dumped.

Tate said, "there's too much activity on this road, there is nobody so there's a lot of sneaky things going on."

On the night of the abduction, the woman was last seen at the Daiquiri Shack in Eunice.

Officials haven't released the specifics of what happened in between the Daiquiri Shack and where the victim was found in the ditch.

Bret Faulkner of the Eunice Police Department said, "they've been working very hard, put in a lot of man hours, to solve this crime."

Twenty-one year old Stevin Lafleur and twenty-five year old John Hebert of Eunice have both been charged with second degree simple kidnapping.

Faulker said it's unfortunate that someone from the area would commit this type of crime. Officials aren't sure if the two men have any connection with the victim prior to that night.

Both Lafleur and Hebert are being held at the Eunice City Jail without bond.
