St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Investigators arrested a man and woman in a sexual abuse case of a 13-year-old girl. Major Ginny Higgins says the investigation started in January in a reference to the girl being sexually abused between October and December of last year.
Higgins says 32-year-old Crystal Robin of St. Martinville is accused of buying the girl alcohol which led to the sexual abuse. She's charged with Distribution to Persons Under Eighteen, four counts of Delinquency Of a Juvenile and Unlawful Purchase Of Alcoholic Beverages By Persons On Behalf Of Persons Under 21. A Breaux Bridge man, 33-year-old Jermaine Alexander of Breaux Bridge is charged with Simple Rape and Contributing to the Celiquency of a Juvenile.
Yesterday, the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Marshall Services Violent Offender Task Force arrested Alexander in Kaplan. Both Jermaine and Robin are in the St. Martin Parish Jail.
