Iberia Parish Deputies say a man is in jail on an outstanding warrant, and a woman arrested for helping him stay hidden. Sheriff Louis Ackal says on December 7, 2012 deputies with the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office obtained information that Jamarcus Delcambre, 24 years old of New Iberia, was inside of a home at 1320 Jordan Street in New Iberia. Delcambre had an outstanding warrant for first degree murder that occurred on August 7, 2012 within the 900 Block of Providence Street, New Iberia. Detectives obtained a search warrant for residence where they believed Delcambre had barricaded himself in the attic and may have been armed.
Deputies with the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office SWAT team conducted a search of the dwelling and were able to locate Delcambre who was hiding in the attic. Delcambre was then taken into custody without incident. Delcambre was then booked into the Iberia Parish Jail for the charge of first degree murder and is being held without bond.
Darla Eaglin, 24 years old of New Iberia, was arrested also for assisting Delcambre in his attempt to evade law enforcement. Eaglin was charged with accessory after the fact of first degree murder. Eaglin was also booked into the Iberia Parish Jail.
