A Crowley couple is behind bars for allegedly selling synthetic marijuana out of local hotel rooms.
Crowely police chief K. P. Gibson says that 37-year-old Leron Angel, Jr., and 19-year-old Bethany Welch set up shop in hotel rooms in the attempt to make their clients blend in with regular hotel traffic.
Gibson says investigators busted the pair after conducting surveillance on their alleged operation. Detectives say they found packs of synthetic marijuana in plain view when they raided the couple's hotel room.
Both Angel and Welch are charged with possession with intent to distribute.
