While Tropical Storm Ernesto continues to produce flooding conditions and slowly weakens inland across Mexico, a new tropical depression has formed in the mid-Atlantic.
Tropical Depression #7 was upgraded from a disturbance late Thursday afternoon. The system is expected to slowly gain strength as it moves westward and may become Tropical Storm Gordon Friday.
This system will likely threaten the Caribbean, much like Ernesto's track with the National Hurricane Center putting this system in the Central & Western Caribbean Sea by early next week.
Preliminary indications through the long-range models indicate that TD7 may utlimately be ear-marked for Central America and/or Mexico.
Meanwhile a new disturbance emerging off of the African Coast will likely develop over the weekend into early next week.
